We Code 2 & Code the Future
We Code 2 is a community-rooted STEAM education initiative focused on preparing Black and underrepresented youth for success in a technology-driven economy. Through years of hands-on programming—including Summer STEAM Camps and enrichment experiences—We Code 2 has built a trusted platform that introduces students in grades K–12 to coding, robotics, problem-solving, and digital creativity.

These programs have consistently demonstrated that early access to technology education builds confidence, curiosity, and capability, particularly in communities historically excluded from high-growth technology fields.
As the global economy continues to be reshaped by Artificial Intelligence, automation, and data-driven systems, the need for deeper, workforce-aligned pathways has become increasingly urgent. While STEAM exposure remains foundational, today’s students must be equipped with applied skills, credentials, and career pathways that translate learning into economic opportunity.
In response, We Code 2 is expanding its impact through Code the Future, a workforce-focused extension designed to prepare youth and young adults (ages 15–24) for participation in the AI-powered economy. Code the Future builds on the We Code 2 foundation by introducing AI literacy, applied technology skills, industry-aligned certifications, mentorship, and exposure to technology careers and entrepreneurship.
Together, We Code 2 and Code the Future form a two-layer development pipeline—from early exposure to workforce readiness—designed to move students from curiosity to competency and from participation to leadership in high-growth technology sectors.
Rooted in community trust and informed by real-world workforce needs, this initiative represents a long-term investment in human capital and economic mobility. The vision is clear: to ensure the next generation is not left behind by technological change, but intentionally prepared to thrive within it.
